The Signature Series thread design allows connection
and disassembly with only 1-1/2 turns, significantly faster than with
thinner thread designs. Because the threads are thicker and more durable
than traditional threads, they can also withstand tough use in the field.
The rounded bail design is easy to use, and the modifications to the
cylinder allow it to hold almost 10% more soil than standard AMS augers. The
auger bits have been modified to speed the augering process even more.
Except for the Dutch Auger, each auger has high carbon steel bits with
tungsten carbide hard surface edges, a stainless steel cylinder, and a
carbon steel bail. Use Regular Auger for ordinary soil sampling. Mud Auger
is designed for easy removal of heavy, wet or clay soils. The Sand Auger is
recommended for extremely dry, sandy soils. Easily collect samples in
heavily rooted areas with the Dutch Auger, made from carbon steel. Order
augers, cross handles, and extensions separately.
